HAVE YOU HEARD OF THE FOUR SPIRITUAL LAWS?

(Just as there are physical laws that govern the physical universe, so there are spiritual laws which govern your relationship with God.)

LAW ONE

GOD LOVES YOU AND HAS A WONDERFUL PLAN FOR YOUR LIFE.
(Scripture references contained in this document should be read in context from the Bible whenever possible.)

GOD’S LOVE
Jeremiah 31:3 “Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with loving kindness have I drawn thee.”

GOD’S PLAN
Psalm 16:11 “Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.” (Scripture elsewhere calls this a full and meaningful or abundant life.)
Psalm 37:23-24 “The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.”

Why is it that most people are not experiencing the abundant life?
Because

LAW TWO

MAN IS SINFUL AND SEPARATED FROM GOD, THUS HE CANNOT KNOW AND EXPERIENCE GOD’S LOVE AND PLAN FOR HIS LIFE.

(Man is continually trying to reach God and the abundant life through his own efforts, MITZVAHS, ethics, philosophy, etc.)

MAN IS SINFUL

Ecclesiastes 7:20 ‘For there is not a just man upon the earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.” (Soloman)

Isaiah 64:6 “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness (good deeds) are as filthy rags…”

MAN IS SEPARATED FROM GOD

Isaiah 59:1-2 “Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your INIQUITIES have SEPARATED between you and your God, and your SINS have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.” (The prophets clearly teach that God’s Laws are so perfect that man cannot keep them. Instead of becoming a means of access to God, they reveal how far short man falls of God’s holiness. The animal sacrifices were instituted in recognition of man’s inability to keep God’s Laws.)

The Third Law gives us the only answer to this dilemma.

LAW THREE

THE MESSIAH IS GOD’S ONLY PROVISION FOR MAN’S SIN. THROUGH HIM YOU CAN KNOW GOD’S LOVE AND PLAN FOR YOUR LIFE.

Cain and Abel! --A Lamb for a man Passover -- A Lamb for a family Yom Kippur – A Lamb for a nation Messiah –the Lamb for all the world Psalm 40:6-8; Isaiah 49:5-6; Isaiah 52:13, 53:12; John 1:29

Messiah is from the Hebrew Moshisch meaning anointed. Translated from Greek it is Christ.

HOW

Leviticus 17:11 “…I have given IT to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that maketh an ATONEMENT for the soul.”

WHO

Isaiah 53:5-8 “But HE was wounded for our transgressions, HE was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon HIM; and with HIS stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on HIM the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and HE was afflicted, yet HE opened not HIS mouth: He is brought as a LAMB to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so HE openeth not HIS mouth….for HE was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was HE stricken.” (Isaiah is speaking here of one who was to die for his people, the Jews.)

WHEN
Daniel 9:26 “…shall Messiah be cut off (killed), but not for HIMSELF: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary….” (This destruction of Jerusalem came in 70 A.D. under Titus of Rome, thus Messiah had to come and be killed before that event.)

LAW FOUR

WE MUST RECEIVE MESSIAH JESUS AS SAVIOR AND LORD BY PERSONAL INVITATION

MESSIAH MUST BE RECEIVED BY PERSONAL FAITH

Psalm 2:12 “Kiss (reverence) the SON, lest He be angry, and ye perish from the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their TRUST IN HIM.” (This is from a great Messianic Psalm) . . .

Jesus said, “…in order that all may honor the SON, even as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father whosent Him. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever BELIEVES in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world; but that the world should be saved through Him. He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

HOW TO RECEIVE THE MESSIAH BY FAITH

Revelation 3:20 (Jesus is speaking) “Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any one hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him…”

Receiving Jesus* involves commitment of the total person—intellect, emotion and will. The change which follows this initial act may be sudden or gradual according to one’s personality.

*Is there any good reason why you wouldn’t like to RECEIVE Messiah Jesus right now?

*”Jesus comes from the Hebrew word Yeshuah meaning salvation. Hence we understand the Lord’s word given to Joseph regarding Mary, to whom he was engaged: Matt. 1:21 “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.”

WHAT TO PRAY AS AN ACT OF RECEIVING CHRIST:

Pray in your own words; God knows your heart and is not concerned with your words, but rather with the attitude of your heart. The following is a suggested prayer:

“Lord Jesus, forgive my sins. I open the door of my life and receive you as my Messiah and Lord. Take control of the throne of my life. Make me the kind of person you want me to be. Thank you for coming into my life and for hearing my prayer as you promised.”

Did you pray this prayer?

YES

I still have questions

HOW TO KNOW JESUS IS IN YOUR LIFE:

Did you ask Jesus into your life? Were you sincere? Where is HE right now? Jesus said that HE would come into your life. Would He mislead you? Then where is He? On what authority do you know? (The trustworthiness of God Himself and His Word.)

1 John 5:11-13 “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He that hath the Son hath life (right now); and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life.”

HOW TO BE A DYNAMIC BELIEVER

  1. G Go to God in Prayer Daily (John 15:7).
  2. R Read God’s Word Daily—Begin with the Gospel of John (Acts 17:11).
  3. O Obey God Moment by Moment (John 14:21).
  4. W Witness for Jesus Daily by Your Life and Words (Matt. 4:19, John 15:8).
  5. T Trust God for Every Detail of Your Life (1 Peter 5:7).
  6. H Holy Spirit—Allow Him to Control and Empower Your Daily Life and Witness (Gal. 5:16-17; Acts 1:8).

The Importance of Fellowship with Other Believers

Hebrews 10:25 we are admonished “to forsake not the assembling of ourselves together…”Several logs burn brightly together; put one aside on the old hearth and the fire goes out. So it is in your relationship to other believers. Take the initiative; call the pastor of a nearby church where Messiah is honored and the Bible is preached. Make plans now to start next Sunday and to attend each week.
